Arabel pass & Burken valley

Friday, July 12, 2024

Being back on the top, almost at 3800 meters above sea, we got surprised to land in snow this time. Cycling up to Arabel pass, we had a nice view to some cloudy high snowy mountains. The mud was so strong in between, we could not even push the bikes properly anymore. Also the chain got so muddy, it didn't even stay on the chainring and cassette. But after a few snickers and strength again, we managed to get over the pass and cycle down into a hailstorm. After a few river crossing and managing to get down to about 3300 meters above sea, we found a wonderful campspot between the cows.

Some days of slowly cycling down the pass with strong headwind, but the first time mostly lovely weather, followed.

Defending our gear against the very curious cows and scare away the horses & sheeps from the trail so we could pass, made our days varied and we got to Naryn.
